Deleting Junk E-mail in Outlook XP using Rules Wizard
In order to remove or delete junk e-mail or inappropriate content from your email, it is necessary to create filters. If you would like to specify more restrictions to be used, you may also use the Rules Wizard. The Rules Wizard allows users to indicate which emails to be received by their inbox in Outlook.
- Click the Microsoft Exchange Outlook icon on your Windows Desktop.
Select the Inbox folder
Click on the Tools option and select Rules Wizard
- Apply the following rules:
- Choose to Start creating a rule from a template
Scroll down and select Move messages based on content for the type of rule you want to create, then click Next.
- Scroll down and check suspected to be junk e-mail or from junk senders and containing adult content for your conditions, then click Next.
- Choose to move the message to a specific folder, delete it or permanently delete it.
Note: If you create the rule to permanently delete it, all messages deleted by the rule will be permanently gone from your mailbox.
- If you choose to move the suspected junk mail, you must specify the folder by clicking the Rule description box on the underlined value called specified folder to edit it.
The Choose a Folder dialog box will appear:
You may choose the Deleted Items folder or
Click New and add a new folder to your Inbox:
Name the folder: Junk E-mail
The new Junk E-mail folder should be found on your folder list:
Click OK
The new Rules Wizard dialog box will appear with the Rule description box highlighting the Junk E-mail folder.
Click Next
- Add any exceptions (if necessary):
Check the box of the exceptions needed.
If you would like to add or edit the Junk Senders list, click the link 
Click Add to enter a new sender.
The Sender dialog box will appear. Type the e-mail alias or domain of a sender to be added to the Junk Senders list.
Click OK
- Please specify a name for this rule:
Make sure you have Turn on this rule checked.
Click Finish
Note: The rules created will only perform when Outlook is running.
- Apply the rules. When you open Rules Wizard from the Tools menu, your dialog box shoud contain:
Check the Junk E-mail rule (client-only)
Check Deleting Junk E-mail (client-only)
Check Exception List (client-only)
You can rename or delete any rules
Click OK
